Everything an archive must do. In your Azure.
Capture, retain, search and retrieve business records. Your data stays in your Azure subscription. We operate the archive application.
Capabilities
Capture and ingestion
Documents arrive from business applications, file shares, scanners and mailboxes through Straatos or the API, with metadata and retention class attached. Original file format preserved.
Classification and metadata
Each record carries its business context: document type, customer, date, department, retention class. Authorised users can correct metadata; every change is logged and the document stays unchanged.
Retention and legal hold
Retention classes define how long each type of record is kept. The class is set when the document is archived. Legal hold prevents deletion until an authorised user releases it.
Search and retrieval
Full-text search, including scanned documents, plus filters on any metadata field. Preview and download. The search index sits in your Azure subscription with the data.
Access control and audit
Separate permissions for viewing, downloading, editing metadata and managing retention. Sign-in with Microsoft Entra ID. Audit records for user and administrative activity, exportable as CSV.
Export and portability
Your documents are standard files in your own Azure storage. Read and move them with standard Azure tools, with or without our application. Metadata exports as CSV or JSON.
API and integrations
A REST API to archive, search and retrieve documents and set retention from your own systems.
API documentation [API docs URL]Archive-ready data, not just archived files
Most archives store what they are given. CumulusPro Archive is fed by CumulusPro Straatos, a document processing and workflow platform that works like an enterprise service bus in front of the archive. It receives documents from any source, classifies them, extracts and maps the data, lets business users check it, and archives each document with the right metadata and retention class.
Learn more about Straatos ↗-

Product FAQ
Where are archived documents stored?
In your own Azure subscription, in the region you choose: documents, metadata and the search index.
Who manages the Azure resources?
You do, with your usual Azure tools. During rollout we can set them up with you.
Does CumulusPro operate the application?
Yes. We host, maintain, update and monitor the archive application as a service.
Can we search by content and metadata?
Yes. Full-text search, including scanned documents, and filters on any metadata field. The index is in your Azure subscription.
How are retention and legal hold applied?
The retention class is set when a document is archived, through Straatos or the API. Legal hold prevents deletion until released.
How do documents get into the archive?
Through Straatos, through the API, or through existing integrations.
What happens to our data if we stop?
It stays in your Azure subscription as standard files. You can read and move it with standard Azure tools, without CumulusPro.
